have always been an artist in some capacity. Before I realized that graphic design was my true passion, I worked in the restaurant industry, starting as a busboy and eventually moving into the kitchen as a prep cook. It wasn't long before I was cooking full-time.

While I pursued my studies in art school—balancing classes during the day with long shifts in the kitchen—I realized I wanted to be an artist. However, I was aware that pursuing art as a career might not pay the bills. A friend who owned a bakery needed assistance, so I transitioned to becoming a donut fryer and left cooking behind.

Working full-time as a baker while trying to squeeze in some painting was challenging because of the demanding hours. As a result, I set aside my artistic pursuits for several years.

After getting married and starting a family, I found it increasingly difficult to manage my personal life, and I knew something had to change. I returned to school to earn a pre-press degree. While working at a local print shop, I discovered my passion for graphic design.

Since then, I have been on a whirlwind journey of learning and hard work to develop the skills necessary for the work I truly desire. When COVID-19 hit, I experienced a pivotal moment. I decided to pursue my own path and create the art I wanted to make. I began illustrating more, and soon enough, projects that aligned with my vision started coming my way. Now, I am building Big Bad Tree on the principle of being true to my inner voice.
